Hidden Disabilities / Sunflower Initiative

Our Gilmours North Shore and Manukau stores have joined the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower - Australia & New Zealand

Globally, one in seven people live with a disability – while some of these are visible disabilities, many people have a non-visible condition such as autism, epilepsy, diabetes, and chronic pain. The Hidden Disabilities Sunflower is a voluntary tool to showcase that the wearer, or someone with them, has a disability or condition that may not be immediately visible and that they might need a helping hand, more understanding, or extra time.

Gilmours North Shore was the first store within Foodstuffs North Island Limited to have completed their training and go live with this initiative.  Manukau have now joined, and we hope to get our remaining stores on board next year.

If you are shopping at Gilmours North Shore or Gilmours Manukau and require a Sunflower lanyard, you can collect it from the Customer Service desk. For more information about the Sunflower Initiative, check out the following link: www.hdsunflower.com/au
